What a fantastic place! The food was incredible, the garlic and parsely sauce was probably one of the best I've ever had. The serving staff were cheery, polite and very attentive. Chef Lele is so kind and when we asked about the ingredients for the tirimasu (due to Keto diet) he was very honest and did not lie in order to get us to buy it. I will definitely be back when I'm next in town!
I visited based on previous reviews being glowing and I was absolutely not let down. Food was absolutely fantastic, the portion sizes were great and the service was friendly. I can't wait to come back and try some more dishes.
I have been come here for a long time and finally found it. The style this restaurant close sympathetic about the staff are super friendly. It’s right below Pasco near the street. I like how affordable all their dishes are. I ordered carbonara and cheesecake. The carbonara could use less fat meat, but overall it tastes amazing. The cake was really soft and tasty. Highly recommend it.
Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in, it really was like being in Italy. The staff were really approachable and appreciative to have you there. The food was authentic and so good! So glad to have a “proper Italians” as our local now.
Updated 3.6.24: 3rd visit and still great food and beautiful wine. We had pizzas this time and they were great but can’t wait to get the amazing specials next time, especially during the warm weather. I have to say Fabiana is amazing! As a host she has the perfect balance of friendliness with one of the best customer service I’ve ever seen. She I knows exactly what she is doing - a real credit to the restaurant. Bring on our next visit with their amazing specials. Updated 26.5.24: We returned to Sapori and the food again blew us away! Possibly some of the tastiest and well presented food I’ve ever had. Fantastic wine and beautiful fresh seafood and pasta! Fantastic service too! 18.5.24: Amazing food and amazing customer service. We met and chatted with the friendly staff who served the tastiest and really well presented food and the wine was great so we can’t wait to go back. Perfect place to go before or after going to the cinema or theatre too. It has just opened so hopefully as they continue to grow the business they include more plants inside and out to really make this an even greater stand out experience. It really deserves to do well!!

Popped into Sapori’s in the centre of Gateshead recently and had such a great experience I had to leave a review. I ordered the Meat Feast Calzone, and it was absolutely delicious. The calzone was huge, packed with flavour, and perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and loads of gooey mozzarella and tasty meats inside. You could really tell everything was fresh and made with care. The service was excellent—really quick and friendly without feeling rushed. What made it even better was seeing the owner, Chris, working right alongside his staff. He was chatting with customers, making sure everyone was happy, and just being a brilliant host. It’s clear he takes pride in what he does, and it shows in both the food and the atmosphere. All in all, a lovely spot for proper Italian food. I’ll definitely be back—and if you go, do yourself a favour and try the Meat Feast Calzone!
We went for lunch on Sunday. The waitress was friendly and attentive. My 5 year son was watching the chef make our pizzas and the chef invited him into the kitchen so he could get a better look. My son was so excited to see his pizza being made. It made our visit so special. The food was amazing and great choice. We had crab and prawn linguine, meat calzone and pepperoni and nduja pizza. Thanks to all the staff for the amazing experience.
